Founders of agritech platform Semios and Agworld have brought the two products under a new umbrella brand – Almanac. The new brand offers a comprehensive suite of products and services that harness data effectively. By collecting and analyzing essential agricultural information, Almanac offers actionable insights to help farmers and agricultural professionals make informed decisions.

At the core of Almanac, according to the company, is Alma, its “intelligence platform” designed to integrate various products and services. Alma gathers information from farm data, sensor networks, partner integrations, and community input, translating complex data into straightforward guidance that farmers can readily use.

The Almanac Offerings

Under the Almanac umbrella, farmers can access two technologies:

Semios: This platform specializes in crop management by providing real-time climate, pest, and water data from a network of over 500,000 sensors. The system collects daily data, resulting in more than 500 million data points available for analysis.

Agworld: Serving as a digital notebook for farmers, this farm management software allows users to oversee budgets, compliance, and operational efficiencies. It equips farmers with essential tools to improve profitability and streamline various business processes.

Together, Semios and Agworld cover more than 100 million acres of farmland globally, offering support throughout all seasons and critical farming decisions.

Supporting Farmers in the Field

The platform aims to act as a supportive partner for farmers, helping them anticipate pest outbreaks or weather changes. By combining field data with expert analysis, Almanac assists farmers in making informed decisions that protect crops and optimize harvests. The insights generated through Almanac are intended to help increase yields, lower expenses, and promote sustainable farming practices, reinforcing the stewardship that has been passed down through generations.

Alma’s features include AI-driven summaries focused on regional weather patterns, product suggestions, and pest alerts, all tailored to meet the specific needs of individual farms. This allows farmers to dedicate more time to fieldwork instead of sorting through extensive reports.

“Almanac isn’t just about the latest software, data, AI, or hardware—although we offer those in abundance. Almanac respects, values, and provides wisdom in a field where wisdom is key: the wisdom of farmers, the wisdom of the land, and the wisdom we gather through our technology.”
Sumer Johal, CEO, Almanac

Almanac’s goal is to integrate modern technology with the rich history of agricultural knowledge, fostering sustainable food systems for the future. As farmers face challenges like unpredictable weather and rising input costs, many are blending traditional farming methods with modern digital tools to strengthen their operations. Almanac aims to enhance the longstanding knowledge of farmers with advanced technology to create tools that simplify data interpretation and deliver timely insights, directly accessible in the fields.

Through strategic acquisitions, partnerships and third-party integrations, as well as the use of AI, Almanac seeks to redefine the future of farm intelligence.
