NEDFi (North Eastern Development Finance Corporation) has been honored with the 15th National Digital Transformation Award under the “Initiative in AgriTech” category. This recognition highlights the organization’s efforts in implementing the Ministry of DoNER and NEC-funded North Eastern Region Agri-Commodity e-Connect (NE-RACE) project. The initiative aims to establish a robust digital ecosystem to connect farmers in the Northeast region to broader markets and better opportunities.
NEDFi’s NE-RACE
The NEDFi’s NE-RACE initiative includes a newly launched web portal and mobile application designed to provide farmers with better market access, improved negotiation capabilities, and premium pricing opportunities. The platform supports real-time updates on product availability and enhances connectivity between buyers and sellers.
NE-RACE facilitates the trade of a variety of agricultural and horticultural products such as spices, fruits, vegetables, pulses, cereals, and minor forest produce. Buyers gain access to verified sellers, ensuring product quality while benefiting from logistical support and transaction planning. The platform also fosters long-term business relationships.
Language and Accessibility
To ensure inclusivity, the NERACE platform supports multiple languages, including English, Hindi, Assamese, Mizo, Manipuri, Nepali, and Khasi. It caters to the diverse linguistic needs of the Northeast region. The platform aligns with the Northeast’s unique offerings, including 20 Geographical Indication (GI) products known for their exotic qualities, health benefits, and high market value.

Digital Transformation Conclave and Awards
The 15th Edition of the Digital Transformation Conclave and Awards was held on December 13 in Guwahati. The event, hosted by the Department of Information Technology, Government of Assam, and co-hosted by DITEC, was organized by GovConnect, an ilouge Media initiative. The conclave provided a platform for government officials, industry experts and innovators to discuss advancements in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and emerging technologies in governance.
The event explored challenges and opportunities in implementing digital initiatives across various public sector organizations and government departments. Recognizing exemplary efforts, the Digital Transformation Awards aim to honor initiatives that leverage technology to drive meaningful changes in governance and public engagement.
