PepsiCo India hosted the first-ever RevolutioNari Conference and Awards 2024 in New Delhi, an event aimed at celebrating the contributions of women in agriculture. The initiative underscores PepsiCo’s commitment to fostering inclusive growth through partnerships with government bodies, organizations and local communities.

The event opened with engaging discussions, workshops, and knowledge exchanges. Experts from various industries explored policies, challenges, and innovations to support women’s empowerment in agriculture. These sessions provided actionable insights into advancing gender equality and innovation in farming practices.

Recognizing Excellence Through the RevolutioNari Awards

The RevolutioNari Awards were designed to honor women for their leadership and impact in agriculture. Ten women farmers from across India received awards for their contributions in categories that reflect key areas of agricultural advancement. The winners were selected by a jury chaired by Prof. Ramesh Chand, Member of NITI Aayog, after a thorough evaluation of nominations.

Dignitaries and Keynote Speakers Emphasize Women’s Role

The awards ceremony was attended by prominent dignitaries, including Dr. Raj Bhushan Choudhary, Minister of State for Jal Shakti, and Smriti Irani, Former Minister of Women and Child Development. Ajit Balaji Joshi, Secretary, Department of Agriculture and Farmer Welfare, Government of Punjab, delivered the keynote address.

Dr. Choudhary remarked on the indispensable role of women in driving agricultural progress and commended PepsiCo for recognizing their efforts. Joshi highlighted the importance of organizations like PepsiCo in creating opportunities for women in agriculture and related sectors.

Jagrut Kotecha, CEO of PepsiCo India and South Asia, announced the company’s goal of empowering one million women across India by 2026. He emphasized PepsiCo’s longstanding collaboration with farmers and its efforts to make positive societal impacts through initiatives like RevolutioNari.
