The ICAR-Indian Institute of Horticultural Research (ICAR-IIHR) is set to host the National Horticulture Fair 2025, an event focused on advancing horticultural practices in India. Themed “Horticulture for Viksit Bharat – Nutrition, Empowerment, Livelihood,” the event will bring together farmers, researchers, students and industry professionals to explore innovations and exchange knowledge in the field of horticulture.
Organized in collaboration with the Society for Promotion of Horticulture (SPH), BESST-HORT (Technology Business Incubator ICAR-IIHR), ICAR-ATARI Bengaluru, and several other institutions, the fair will be held from February 27 to March 1 at the ICAR-IIHR campus in Bengaluru, Karnataka.
The National Horticulture Fair will highlight the role of horticulture in addressing key national priorities by promoting nutritionally rich crops, supporting farmers, particularly those from disadvantaged backgrounds, with access to vital information and technologies, and introducing new approaches to enhance productivity, income and sustainability.
The highlight of the fair will be live demonstrations of advanced horticultural technologies, exhibitions showcasing innovations in crop production and post-harvest management, and expert-led discussions on topics such as urban horticulture, value addition, and entrepreneurship. The event will also offer advisory services and the opportunity to purchase high-quality seeds, planting materials, and modern horticultural equipment.
Exhibitions and Demonstrations on Advanced Horticultural Technologies
The fair will feature over 250 stalls set up by institutions, organizations, and businesses, each displaying innovations in various aspects of horticulture. Visitors can explore advancements in crop improvement, crop production, crop protection, post-harvest management, value addition and horticultural machinery and tools, many of which have been developed by ICAR-IIHR. These exhibits aim to provide farmers with practical solutions to improve efficiency, sustainability, and profitability.
One of the key attractions will be the live demonstration of varieties and technologies developed by ICAR-IIHR.
