These platforms are changing how agricultural knowledge is accessed, how subsidies and insurance are delivered, and how farmers connect with markets, credit, and weather forecasts—all with a few taps.
More than half of India’s workforce depends on agriculture, yet timely access to accurate information has long remained a hurdle. Government-led digital services are now helping close this gap by delivering mandi prices, expert advisories, weather alerts, soil reports, and scheme details directly to farmers in their regional languages. These tools are not only reducing dependence on intermediaries but also enabling farmers to make better decisions with less guesswork.
While over 100 digital initiatives have been introduced in the agriculture sector, adoption varies across regions. Yet with more than 800 million mobile users in India and rural internet usage on the rise, these services are poised to become more widely integrated into everyday farm practices. What began as a digital push is evolving into a support system—one that empowers cultivators to make smarter, data-backed choices from sowing to selling.
Mobile Seva AppStore
The GOV.IN AppStore, also known as Mobile Seva AppStore, is the government’s official platform for accessing public service apps. It offers a safe, centralized space to download apps approved by various departments. This makes it easier for citizens, including farmers, to find and use trusted digital services.
Raj Kisan Suvidha
Developed by the Department of Information Technology & Communication, Government of Rajasthan, this app serves as a digital handbook for farmers on state schemes and subsidies. It helps users understand eligibility criteria, application procedures, and benefit tracking in a user-friendly format. The app bridges the gap between farmers and government policies through real-time, accurate information dissemination.
IFFCO Kisan App
Supported by IFFCO and the government, this mobile app provides farmers with real-time mandi prices, weather forecasts, crop advisories, and a 24×7 call center. It is available in regional languages and connects users with agricultural experts through voice and text-based services. It also integrates marketplace features for agri-products.
Meghdoot App
This mobile app offers farmers location-specific weather forecasts and timely agricultural advisories to support crop and livestock decisions. Developed jointly by IMD, IITM, and ICAR, it brings scientific insights directly to the field. The goal is to empower farmers with real-time data for smarter, climate-resilient farming.
mKisan Portal
The mKisan Portal delivers region-specific SMS advisories to farmers in their preferred language, covering weather updates, crop health tips, market prices, and more. It is an important two-way communication tool between the agriculture department and farmers. The platform also includes a public grievance system and connects to Kisan Call Centres for personalized assistance.
PM-KISAN Portal
This portal enables small and marginal farmers to register for the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme, which offers ₹6,000 in annual income support. Farmers can check payment status, beneficiary lists, and Aadhaar validation through a simple dashboard. It plays a vital role in India’s direct benefit transfer (DBT) mechanism for rural financial empowerment.
Soil Health Card Portal
The Soil Health Card Portal allows farmers to access scientific analysis of their soil’s nutrient status. Reports are tailored with crop-specific fertilizer recommendations to optimize yield and maintain ecological balance. The initiative promotes long-term soil conservation and efficient input use.
eNAM Platform
The National Agriculture Market (eNAM) is an electronic trading portal that connects over 1,000 regulated APMC markets across India. It enhances price transparency and enables farmers to sell their produce beyond their local mandi with ease. Through real-time market data and payment integration, eNAM reduces dependence on middlemen.
PMFBY Portal
The Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana portal facilitates online enrollment for crop insurance, helping farmers safeguard against natural calamities and yield losses. It includes premium calculators, coverage information, and claim tracking tools. The digital interface ensures transparency in the claim process and timely payouts. Farmers can also access these services on the go through the dedicated Crop Insurance App, which offers real-time updates and simplifies the insurance application process.
SeedNet Portal
SeedNet is a centralized database offering state-wise and crop-wise seed availability from certified suppliers. Farmers can identify suitable seed varieties for their region and track supply chains. The portal supports transparency in seed distribution and helps avoid duplication or shortages during sowing seasons.
Pashu Bazaar or Epashuhaat
This portal helps livestock farmers manage productivity by accessing data on breed types, vaccination schedules, and veterinary services. It facilitates online trade of quality livestock, semen, and embryos across India. The initiative improves breeding outcomes and supports animal husbandry as a viable farm income source.
Kisan Credit Card (KCC)
The KCC scheme offers farmers short-term credit at subsidized interest rates to meet their crop production and allied agricultural needs. Through its integration with the PM-KISAN portal, eligible farmers can apply digitally for hassle-free loans. The card also supports dairy, poultry, and fisheries-based livelihoods.
Agmarknet Portal
Agmarknet collects and shares daily price and arrival data from over 3,000 agricultural produce markets (mandis) across the country. It helps farmers stay updated on regional and national price trends before making selling decisions. The portal is also useful for traders, policymakers, and researchers in agri-economics.

Digital Platform for Farm Mechanization and Technology
This portal connects farmers with Custom Hiring Centres (CHCs) and machinery providers for easy equipment rental and purchase. The service is also accessible through the FARMS app that enables farmers to locate Custom Hiring Centres (CHCs) near them for renting tractors, harvesters, and other farm equipment via their mobile phones.
Agri Infra Fund Portal
This portal supports online applications for financing under the Agriculture Infrastructure Fund. The scheme aims to develop post-harvest infrastructure like warehouses, cold storage units, grading facilities, and processing centers. It promotes agri-entrepreneurship and reduces post-harvest losses.
Jal Shakti Abhiyan
This initiative tracks and promotes water conservation efforts across critical blocks in India. The dashboard provides real-time updates on irrigation projects, watershed management, and rainwater harvesting. It is crucial for drought-prone areas where water resource planning directly affects farm productivity.
National Mission on Natural Farming (NMNF)
The NMNF encourages the shift to chemical-free, ecosystem-based agriculture practices that are cost-effective and sustainable.
