Wavar, an integrated pest management company has entered into partnership with Samunnati, an agri chain solutions firm, to strengthen Farmer Producer Organisations (FPOs), Farmer Producer Companies (FPCs), Cluster Based Business Organisations (CBBOs). Through this collaboration, Wavar will integrate its Integrated Pest Management (IPM) based products with Samunnati’s nationwide network of over 30,000 FPOs, FPCs, and CBBOs, aiming to scale adoption of sustainable pest management practices across the country.
According to Wavar, the partnership aims to address two critical gaps in the agricultural ecosystem, strengthening the business models of FPOs and FPCs with sustainable, high end offerings, while accelerating awareness and adoption of IPM practices. By doing so, it seeks to help farmers reduce cultivation costs, enhance crop quality, and improve overall profitability.
Wavar IPM Expanding via Samunnati
FPOs and FPCs form the backbone of India’s rural economy, but many farmers still face challenges in moving beyond basic market linkage activities. The adoption of IPM practices could help farmers reduce dependence on pesticides by as much as 50%, potentially improving yields and enabling the production of low residue crops that are better aligned with both domestic and global demand for healthier food.
By combining Samunnati’s capital and reach with Wavar’s IPM technologies, we are empowering these organizations to expand capacity, deepen farmer engagement, and deliver real profitability to their members.
Presently, the project is focused in Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, and Gujarat, engaging with over 600 FPOs and FPCs. The partnership aims to expand its reach to more than 1,500 FPOs and FPCs, ultimately benefiting farmers, NGOs, and grassroots organizations across Samunnati’s ecosystem. Through this initiative, farmers will gain access to input financing, stronger market linkages, and capacity building programs, enabling a sustainable transition toward natural farming practices.
Enhancing Agriculture Sustainability and Efficiency
According to Samunnati, the firm prioritises unlocking the potential of small land holding farmers by strengthening Farmer Collectives. The partnership with Wavar provides them with the opportunity to bring affordable, practical technologies like IPM into the hands of farmers, while also equipping them with credit, training, and market opportunities. Through such efforts, Samunnati aspires to build stronger farmer institutions that can contribute to a more resilient, profitable, and sustainable agricultural ecosystem.
The partnership aligns to Wavar’s broader pursuit of of building a cleaner food value chain in India. Through its consumer brand Chataka Tales, Wavar is building direct channels for low residue, authentic food products, with the aim of enabling farmers to secure better prices while offering consumers healthier, chemical free options.

Wavar’s IPM portfolio, combined with Samunnati’s farmer network and financial expertise, could potentially enable farmers to achieve better profitability while advancing climate smart agriculture in a scalable and sustainable manner. Wavar also acknowledged the leadership of Anil Kumar SG, Founder & CEO of Samunnati, for creating a strong ecosystem of FPOs and FPCs, and for his contribution in strengthening India’s agricultural value chain.
Advancing Farmer Practices, Productivity, and Reach
Last year, Wavar launched Wavar Jadugar, a product built on advanced IPM technology, offering an eco-friendly mechanism that could potentially enhance crop health and improve farmer profitability. The product targets specific pest species that threaten crops, employing intervention strategies to disrupt their life cycles. Contrary to conventional methods that heavily rely on chemicals, Jadugar integrates automation and precision to attract and neutralize pests.
With operations in 22 states and across more than 100 agricultural value chains, Sammunati has been able to expand its reach to nearly 8 million farmers. Its agricultural network provides financial and non financial solutions to thousands of farmer collectives and agriculture based enterprises, with total transactions exceeding value of $3 billion.
The partnership between Wavar and Samunnati could help demonstrate how farming technologies and organized farmer networks might work together to support small land holding farmers. By integrating Wavar’s targeted pest management solutions with Samunnati’s reach and financial services, the initiative may provide farmers with tools and support to improve crop management, reduce reliance on chemicals, and strengthen their overall farming operations.
