Mahindra Farm Equipment Business, tractor manufacturer, has launched the Mahindra AIROTEC Turbo 600 Alpha, a compact and powerful sprayer designed for orchard crops. Manufactured in Nashik, Maharashtra, the sprayer has been developed by MITRA (Mahindra Innovative Technologies & Research for Agriculture), a wholly owned subsidiary of Mahindra & Mahindra. The product is aimed at advancing mechanized spraying in India’s expanding horticulture sector.
Focus on Orchard Crops
The AIROTEC Turbo 600 Alpha has been built specifically for fruit crops such as grapes and pomegranates. Designed for real world orchard conditions, the tractor driven sprayer features a 600 liter compact tank, a 75 LPM diaphragm pump, and a 616 mm fan capable of delivering air output up to 32 meter per second. Together, these features ensure uniform coverage across plants, addressing the issue of uneven application seen in traditional methods. The sprayer is compatible with both Mahindra and non Mahindra tractors and is lightweight, contributing to lower fuel consumption.
Engineering for Precision and Practicality
Equipped with a two speed plus one neutral gearbox, the sprayer allows farmers to adjust fan speed depending on weather conditions and crop requirements. Its low height profile makes it suitable for safe movement under canopy and trellis systems, crucial for protecting delicate flowers and fruits in high density orchards. The sprayer is further designed with a compact chemical resistant tank that offers durability and long operational life. A three axis toe bar enables ease of movement through tight vineyard rows, reducing crop contact and minimizing the risk of damage to vines or tender fruit.
Features for Efficiency and Safety
The AIROTEC Turbo 600 Alpha comes with 12 two way adjustable brass nozzles for accurate chemical application and reduced wastage. A 5-mode controller ensures precise adjustment of spray pressure, direction, and coverage, adapting to varied terrains and crop growth stages. A brass agitator keeps chemical solutions consistently mixed, preventing sedimentation and ensuring uniform spraying. Safety components such as a pressure relief valve protect both the pump and operator, while tire mud scrapers provide smooth functioning in muddy or uneven conditions.
