Building on an earlier 2025 pilot, the collaboration is expected to support agricultural retailers with AI tools and agronomic guidance, with early results suggesting potential benefits for both retailers and farmers.

Integrating AI Insights with Crop Protection

The partnership brings together Taranis’ leaf-level AI Crop Intelligence platform and Syngenta’s crop protection portfolio. Retailers can gain access to insights on field conditions, pest pressures, and yield potential, which could help them frame recommendations for targeted interventions, optimize input use, and support grower decision-making.

Jason Minton, Chief Commercial Officer at Taranis, noted that participating retailers in 2025 reported using AI early detection to address field issues more promptly, prioritize critical areas, and reduce manual scouting, potentially leading to improved operational efficiency.

Both companies share the vision of an AI-enabled agronomist of the future. By combining Syngenta’s deep agronomic expertise and industry-leading crop protection portfolio with Taranis’ advanced AI capabilities, we’re empowering retailers and growers with timely, actionable insights to help them develop optimal crop management solutions more efficiently than ever before.

For the upcoming 2026 growing season, retailers can access Taranis’ conservation service, which is designed to simplify parts of the conservation funding process for growers.

Taranis’ AI-based tools, already in use for crop monitoring, provide detailed imagery and analysis at the leaf level. These insights can help inform agronomic decisions, with potential applications in both productivity and sustainability areas. While the long-term impact of such tools on conservation outcomes remains to be seen, the collaboration reflects a broader interest in integrating digital agriculture with conservation-focused efforts.
