Rumin8 Acquires ROAM Agricultural to Broaden Methane Abatement Portfolio

Rumin8, an agriculture focused climate tech company, has announced the acquisition of ROAM Agricultural (ROAM), a spin out of Loam Bio established to develop solutions for methane abatement in cattle. The acquisition aligns with Rumin8’s ongoing development program for its methane and productivity solution by adding delivery formats and technologies built around the same active ingredient. ROAM’s work extends the company’s capability to reach production systems requiring an extended release profile, widening the applicability of Rumin8’s methane management offerings across livestock environments.

Acceleration of ROAM’s Development Pipeline

The acquired portfolio includes products that, though still early in development, can advance into regulatory studies and commercialisation through Rumin8’s existing operational framework. The integration enables the acceleration of methane abatement solutions intended for cattle farmers and ranchers worldwide by drawing on Rumin8’s established development processes.

TBM Production and Delivery Technologies Now Integrated

ROAM initially focused on a fungi based approach for producing tribromomethane (TBM), recognised as one of the most effective actives for methane reduction in livestock. The work then progressed to synthesised TBM, supported by additional pathways for manufacturing and delivering the compound. These technologies now form part of Rumin8’s expanding platform, adding alternative processes and broadening the range of technical options available for future product advancement.

Expansion Into Multiple Product Formats

With the acquisition complete, company’s portfolio now includes a wider array of product formats. These encompass granules for feed, drinking water additives, and sustained release options such as mineral mixes and boluses. This range supports the company’s view that the methane abatement market in global livestock systems is broad enough to accommodate multiple solutions. The expanded formats strengthen adaptability across diverse production contexts and adoption needs.

Progression Toward Testing & Commercial Deployment

The newly integrated technologies will move forward through structured testing and registration pathways under Rumin8’s development processes. Collaboration with existing manufacturing partners will support this progression, enabling the transition of these solutions from early stage development into formal validation and eventual market availability. The portfolio also forms the basis for continued discussions on commercialisation models and mechanisms that allow farmers and ranchers to monetise carbon reduction associated with these methane abatement products.

ROAM’s technological advancements are a perfect complement to Rumin8’s existing suite of products. Rumin8 has already made significant traction on the path to commercialisation, and it makes perfect sense to pass the baton to a seasoned team with a clear road map to market. This technology matters. It plays an important role in global climate initiatives, and we are excited to watch the Rumin8 team take it to its next stage of growth.

Technology Transition Positions Portfolio for Next Stage Growth

ROAM’s technology suite is now positioned within a commercial pathway designed to support market readiness and long term deployment. The integration strengthens the overall methane abatement offering by combining extended release delivery systems, multiple TBM production pathways, and established development infrastructure. The expanded platform reinforces the role of methane abatement technologies within global climate objectives while setting the stage for the next phase of product advancement under Rumin8’s portfolio.
