Kody Technolab, Indowings Partners to Launch Intelligent Agricultural Drone

Kody Technolab Limited, a provider of robotics and AI solutions, has announced a partnership with Indowings, a drone manufacturing company, to advance agricultural technology in India. The company has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Ray Nano Science and Research Center to develop an intelligent agricultural drone specifically designed for precision spraying with a capacity ranging from 20 to 50 liters, marking an increase from the 10 to 15-liter capacity of existing models in the market. This collaboration aims to redefine sustainable farming practices across India.

The Intelligent Agriculture Spraying Drone is designed for various terrains, including rugged landscapes and flat farmlands. This drone will optimize the use of nano urea, addressing critical issues in fertilizer efficiency and reducing environmental impact in Indian agriculture.

Nano urea is an efficient fertilizer made from tiny urea particles that enhance nutrient uptake, reduce environmental impact, and lower application frequency.

It features advanced AI technologies such as binocular environment perception, LiDAR, and millimeter wave radar, enabling precise and automated spraying solutions.

Binocular Environment Perception: Binocular environment perception involves using two or more cameras to simulate human binocular vision. This technology helps drones accurately gauge depth and distance, enabling them to create a 3D representation of their surroundings. By analyzing the images from both cameras, the drone can identify obstacles, navigate complex terrains, and enhance overall situational awareness, which is crucial for tasks like precision spraying in agriculture.

LiDAR (Light Detection and Ranging): LiDAR is a remote sensing technology that uses laser light to measure distances to the Earth’s surface. A LiDAR system emits rapid pulses of laser light and measures the time it takes for the light to bounce back. This data is used to create detailed, high-resolution 3D maps of the terrain. In agriculture, LiDAR can help assess crop health, monitor field conditions, and optimize resource management by providing precise topographical information.

Millimeter Wave Radar: Millimeter wave radar operates by emitting electromagnetic waves in the millimeter wave frequency range (typically between 30 GHz and 300 GHz). This technology is effective for detecting and tracking objects, even in challenging weather conditions like fog or rain. In agricultural drones, millimeter wave radar can assist in identifying obstacles, measuring distances, and improving navigation accuracy. It provides reliable data for automated operations, ensuring safe and efficient spraying tasks.
