Coromandel International., a provider of agricultural solutions, and Mahindra & Mahindra’s. Farm Equipment Sector (FES) business, Krish-e, have announced a partnership to extend Coromandel’s Gromor Drive drone spraying services to farmers across India. This collaboration aims to enhance agricultural practices by integrating drone technology with farming operations.
Expansion of Gromor Drive Across India
Currently operational in seven key states—Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, and Uttar Pradesh—the Gromor Drive service is supported by RPTO-trained pilots. The service stands out in the market due to the backing of Coromandel’s subsidiary, Dhaksha Unmanned Systems, which handles drone supply, pilot training, and service support. This backward integration gives Coromandel a unique advantage in the emerging drone market, ensuring the reliability and quality of the service offered.
Integration with Krish-e App
The partnership also brings enhanced accessibility to drone spraying services through Mahindra’s ‘Krish-e Kheti Ke Liye App.’ This app, along with other technology-driven solutions provided by Mahindra FES, aims to support sustainable farming practices, boost farmer income, and improve the overall agricultural value chain in India.
During the signing of the non-binding Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), Coromandel’s Chief Operating Officer of Fertiliser Business, Amir Alvi, emphasized the impact of the Gromor Drive service, noting that it offers substantial improvements in efficiency, scalability, and convenience for farmers. “This MoU represents a key milestone in our efforts to make drone spraying services accessible to more farmers, helping them reduce input costs, increase productivity, and improve profitability,” Alvi said.
He further highlighted that Coromandel’s Gromor Drive benefits from in-house developed agricultural drones and a fleet of certified drone pilots, positioning the company to provide comprehensive support and service to Indian farmers. Alvi expressed confidence that the collaboration would open new avenues for innovation and create value for stakeholders, ultimately benefiting farmers.

Hemant Sikka, President of Mahindra & Mahindra’s Farm Equipment Sector, also expressed optimism about the partnership. He emphasized that the integration of modern technology in farming, especially drone technology, can significantly improve productivity while reducing the risks associated with chemical exposure. “Drone technology enables selective spraying of fertilizers and chemicals on crops, leading to better yields,” said Sikka. “Through this partnership, Krish-e customers will be able to access drone spraying services on a pay-per-acre basis via the Krish-e Kheti Ke Liye App.”
Aims to Enhance Farming Practices
This collaboration marks an important step towards modernizing Indian agriculture, ensuring that farmers can leverage drone technology to enhance the efficiency of their farming operations. The accessibility and convenience of drone spraying are expected to help farmers improve crop yields while reducing exposure to harmful chemicals, ultimately benefiting both farmers and the agricultural industry.
