Arya.ag, India’s grain commerce platform, has been recognized with the prestigious 2025 Forward Faster Sustainability Award in the Climate Action category by the United Nations Global Compact Network India (UN GCNI). The accolade highlights the company’s significant contributions to advancing the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through innovative and scalable initiatives that bolster climate resilience, curb food loss, and empower farmers across the country.
Transforming Agriculture with Technology and Sustainability
The UN GCNI commended the company for pioneering climate-smart solutions that have redefined agricultural storage and supply chain management. The company has integrated IoT-enabled warehouses, AI-driven satellite monitoring, and digital platforms like PrithviPro and Aryashakti to support more than 650,000 farmers and 1,300+ Farmer Producer Organisations (FPOs).
By leveraging these cutting-edge technologies, Arya.ag has successfully reduced post-harvest losses by up to 30%, curbed methane emissions through water-efficient rice cultivation, and championed regenerative farming practices. One of its flagship programs, the 200 SMART FPO Initiative, is training 50,000 farmers in climate-resilient agricultural techniques, reinforcing its commitment to sustainable and scalable growth.

Reflecting on this achievement, Shenoy Mathew, Chief Sustainability Officer of Arya.ag, emphasized the company’s dual mission of profitability and environmental responsibility.
“At Arya.ag, we are proving that sustainability and profitability can go hand-in-hand. This award validates our purpose-driven approach to building equitable value chains that uplift farmers while protecting our planet. By integrating climate-smart technologies and financial inclusion, we are creating a future where agriculture thrives without compromising the needs of generations to come.”

Strengthening Agricultural Finance and Food Security
The award follows Arya.ag’s recent milestone of securing an INR 2.5 billion (USD 30 million) loan facility, backed by GuarantCo and HSBC India. This financial backing is set to enhance post-harvest liquidity for farmers and FPOs, aligning with the company’s mission to eliminate distress sales, formalize credit access, and drive transparency in India’s agricultural sector. These efforts directly contribute to SDG 2 (Zero Hunger) and SDG 15 (Life on Land).
Operating across 20 states and half of India’s districts, Arya.ag facilitates the aggregation of USD 3 billion worth of grain annually while disbursing over USD 1.5 billion in loans to smallholder farmers. Its decentralized storage model has revolutionized India’s supply chain dynamics, notably reducing aflatoxin contamination in maize and significantly boosting farmer incomes. As Arya.ag continues its journey of innovation and impact, this recognition solidifies its position as a leader in sustainable agrotech, working toward a future where Indian agriculture is both resilient and inclusive.
