Agritech startup Harvested Robotics has unveiled Prekshakah, an AI driven advanced image scanning system designed to mount on tractors and capture ultra high resolution, multi wavelength imagery of Indian farmlands. The robot has been developed in Harvest Robotics in-house Tantra boards and powered through HarvestOS. The company was founded in 2023 by Rahul Arepaka and George Mathew, with an aim to transform agriculture with AI powered, laser based weeding robots that enhances farm productivity, cuts labour cost, and decrease dependency on chemicals.

Smart Farming Through Imaging

The AI powered robot Prekshakah uses a tractor‑mounted imaging system equipped with ultra high resolution and multi wavelength cameras. Its in‑house Tantra boards and customized HarvestOS enables weed detection and crop health monitoring. The real time data collection also provides scope to build robust datasets for AI driven solutions. The Prekshakah operates instantly as the tractor moves, facilitating a single operator to substitute traditional hand weeding teams, considerably reducing dependence on labour output. As per the company’s website the robot is armed with next gen laser weeding technology is supported by advanced AI, leveraged for building sustainable agriculture solutions.

Brain and Body Of Prekshakah

The advanced AI algorithms and deep learning system of Prekshakah identifies and targets individual weeds with high accuracy using next gen laser technology. The beam steering allows laser to adjust for varying crop widths, ensuring flexibility and crop safety. The integrated 3-point tractor linkage and PTO (Power Take-Off) makes it easily deployable on the unruly terrains of Indian farms. The hydraulic adjustability offers precise height control across various field conditions. All these components aim to deliver a highly efficient, adaptable, and smart weeding solution that is tailored for large scale Indian agriculture.

The Prekshakah system also aims to deliver considerable environmental and economic benefits. The zero soil disturbance is customized to maintain soil structure and root health by eliminating the need for tillage. The machine also enables chemical-free weeding, that preserves vital soil microorganisms, thereby maintaining healthy crop ecosystem. Additionally, its low labour requirement addresses the growing shortage of farm labourers and capital that is spent on manual weeding. The technology is not only poised to boost productivity but also intends to foster sustainable, regenerative farming practices, purposed to grow with changing landscape of Indian agriculture.

Partnering To Build Together

According to the company’s LinkedIn post, the firm aims to deploy Prekshakah system across multiple states in India. This will enable Prekshakah to build a comprehensive weed detection dataset across India through collaboration with industry partners. The company is actively seeking collaboration with farmers, FPOs, and agritech stakeholders in order to expand its field coverage for the weed detection initiative. Participation from various stakeholders will enable the company to deploy across diverse agro climatic regions of the country, facilitating development of Prekshakah into a scalable AI driven agricultural tool.
