AVPL is not a new name, especially in the agriculture drone ecosystem. The company started operations in 2016 and has expanded its base since then. The company has made its presence felt across 12 states and 50 global skill and incubation hubs dedicated to the agro and drone sector.
Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur (IITK) has now joined hands with AVPL International to develop drones to deal with the challenges of large-scale landholders in India, Australia, Austria, and a few other European nations.
The company is also known for developing efficient irrigation and crop monitoring by providing farmers with progressive technology. The Drone technology has further increased crop yields, reducing water consumption and chemical usage.
The joint research deal will advance under the guidance of Professor Ketan Rajawat at Signal Processing in Networking (Spin) Laboratory at the Department of Electrical Engineering, IIT Kanpur. An MoU was signed by Professor Tarun Gupta, Dean of Research and Development at IIT Kanpur, and Preet Sandhuu, founder and chairman of AVPL International.
The signing ceremony was overseen by Professor Jayandharan G Rao and Professor Ketan Rajawat from IIT Kanpur, along with representatives of Technopark@iitk Professor Amarendra Singh, Reema Mittal, and Dr. Piyashee Mallik.
AVPL’s focus on agro drones has allowed them to develop a thorough understanding of unique opportunities and challenges in the sector. This knowledge has enabled the company to create customized solutions for farmers’ needs. From precision agro solutions to drone manufacturing, the company sets the bar high in the sector.
Adding his thoughts on the partnership, Professor Tarun Gupta said, “This partnership will harness drone technology for tackling agricultural hurdles such as seed broadcasting and agrochemical spraying, elaborating on the multifaceted benefits of drones as cost-effective and versatile tool.”
Further, Preet Sandhuu expressed, “Leveraging the extensive heritage of pioneering research at IIT Kanpur, we aim to develop drone solutions that will not only fulfill but surpass the advancing demands of agriculture globally.”
The partnership fosters global leadership in research and development to cultivate a deep understanding of agrotech and make a visible difference in the agricultural sector.
