The agrotech industry has seen phenomenal growth in the last few years. And why not? There have been tech innovations and transformations in every sector so why should the agro industry be left behind?
Giving a boost to the growth in this sector has been a focus for the State as well as Central Government. Following this, events and awards commemorate the deserving companies and startups contributing to the agrotech sector.
Recently, entrepreneur Masas Seth and his wife’s startup named Gudhgrams Pvt. Ltd that was incubated in IIT Kanpur bagged first position in the Agri-Tech category for the international competition held at ASEAN India Scale Hub 2024 in Bali (Indonesia). Hosted by Gates Enterprise Tech, the competition was held from the 3rd to the 5th July at the Channel Summit in Indonesia.
SIIC, IIT Kanpur represented India at ASEAN Scalehub 2024 with 40 disruptive start-ups showcasing their cutting-edge innovation and brightest minds at global scale. Gudhgrams has shown persistent growth and unwavering commitment to sustainable agriculture and agrotech innovations.
It was a proud moment for India, having secured the first position at the event. Events like these motivate new startups and entrepreneurs. Apart from motivation, they get the confidence to innovate in the sector.
This annual program aims to support entry-level and growth-stage startups expanding across ASEAN and beyond. The best part is these events offer different resources, mentorship, and networking opportunities on a global level.
It is a good move for startups looking to collaborate with other companies to participate in the event. Also, if companies want to scale up in agritech, participating in such events can help.
Also, this initiative aligns with the ASEAN of promoting innovation and public & private partnerships. Events like these promote global reach and can have economic impacts.
There is a need to encourage such events in agrotech so that more companies can participate and scale their business. Farmers and humankind as a whole will benefit most from the innovations in agrotech.
