Danish Agri-Robot Maker FarmDroid Raises €10.5M to Scale Solar-Powered Autonomous Farming Tech

FarmDroid, the Denmark-based maker of solar-powered autonomous robots for agriculture, has secured a €10.5 million investment to support its global expansion. The funding round, led by Convent Capital with contributions from EIFO and Navus Ventures, aims to scale FarmDroid’s reach and enhance sustainable farming solutions worldwide. Known for its weeding and sowing capabilities, the FarmDroid robot reduces reliance on pesticides and manual labor through a solar-powered system that operates continuously in the field.

The company’s founders, Jens and Kristian Warming, highlighted the importance of working with partners who align with FarmDroid’s sustainable goals.

Convent Capital’s Steven Bernaert emphasized the environmental benefits of FarmDroid’s technology, noting that it “stands out in simplicity and effectiveness, reducing chemical use while enhancing crop yields.” Caroline Søeborg Ahlefeldt of EIFO echoed the sentiment, describing FarmDroid as a “strong addition” to their portfolio, while Eduard Meijer from Navus Ventures acknowledged the company’s role in advancing sustainable agriculture through practical, farmer-focused robotics.
