Marut Dronetech, a drone manufacturing and training company, has raised $6.2 million in Series A funding from Lok Capital. The company, specializing in drone solutions for agriculture and other sectors, aims to drive drone adoption across India with a focus on enhancing rural productivity, entrepreneurship, and support for farmers through agricultural technology.

The funds will support Marut Dronetech’s plans to expand its ecosystem for drone services, including the development of advanced agricultural drones tailored for functions like direct seeding and crop monitoring. Marut will also broaden its network of service centers and establish drone agriculture hubs in Tier 2-3 cities, along with creating 17 new drone academies for training skilled professionals. These efforts aim to provide better service to rural areas, boost local employment, and foster drone-based entrepreneurship. Additionally, the company plans to recruit specialists across divisions, invest in research partnerships with Indian institutions, and increase its manufacturing capacity to 3,000 drones annually.
