Aqua Doctor Solutions, a Kolkata-based brand and consultancy firm specializing in aquaculture and fisheries, has officially launched the Matsya Sathi App, a digital platform designed to provide comprehensive aquaculture management and consultancy services.
The launch event took place at Kajla Jana Kalayan Samity in Contai, East Midnapore, West Bengal. The app was introduced by ten fisherwomen from Upokulia Matsyajbi Samabay Samity, who are directly involved in fish farming. The event was chaired by Dr N N Dutta, CEO of the Technology Innovation Hub at IIT Guwahati, and attended by Kapil Goenka, Co-Founder of Aqua Doctor Solutions, Swapan Jana and Dr Debtanu Barman, Founder of Aqua Doctor Solutions. More than 100 fish farmers, entrepreneurs were present to witness the launch.
A One-Stop Digital Solution for Fish Farmers
Matsya Sathi is designed to bridge the knowledge gap in aquaculture by offering species-specific training, expert guidance, financial support and market linkages. Developed by Aqua Doctor Solutions, the app serves as a learning platform and an e-commerce hub, enabling fish farmers to access technical knowledge while procuring essential supplies such as fish feed, medicines, and equipment.

As part of the launch, Aqua Doctor Solutions also inaugurated a Common Service Centre to provide a centralized hub for aquaculture services, including access to Aqua Lab facilities for water quality testing and disease management.

Additionally, the app functions as an e-commerce platform where fish farmers can purchase aquaculture equipment, feed, and medicines directly. It connects farmers with wholesale buyers, suppliers, and traders, providing real-time market insights that allow users to make informed sales decisions and optimize profitability.
