Founded in 2020 amid the uncertainty of the COVID-19 pandemic, AgriVijay started as a modest bootstrapped venture. With initial support from the Atal Innovation Mission and NITI Aayog, the company has spent the last few years slowly carving a space for itself in the renewable energy market tailored to the needs of rural India.
AgriVijay has emerged as a specialized platform, offering curated renewable energy solutions specifically for farmers and rural households. Rather than operating solely as an e-commerce brand, it blends technology with physical outreach through a hybrid model—combining digital tools and human interaction in villages.
A Year of Ground-Level Initiatives and Practical Outcomes
One of the company’s highlights this year has been its Solar Sewing Machine initiative, developed in partnership with BAIF, a non-profit working on sustainable rural development. The project aims to equip tribal women in Maharashtra with solar-powered sewing machines—offering a low-cost, reliable tool for self-employment without dependence on erratic electricity supply.
This initiative reflects the broader ethos AgriVijay is striving for: enabling income generation and reducing energy dependency at the village level. For many of the women participating in the program, the solar machines mean consistent work hours, improved efficiency, and most importantly, control over their own livelihoods.
While the technology itself isn’t new, the model of delivering it—through direct support, local engagement, and hands-on training—has made the difference. AgriVijay doesn’t just distribute products; it follows through with after-sales services, financing options, and educational outreach to ensure long-term use and understanding.

AgriVijay’s operations now span five Indian states—Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Andhra Pradesh, and Telangana. At the heart of its operations are over 80 village-level outlets, branded as Renewable Energy Stores. These small but crucial centers act as local hubs where people can learn about solar pumps, biogas kits, energy-efficient cookstoves, and more.
Each store is backed by a network that includes trained sales representatives, a technical support team, and customer service centers offering help in local languages. This multi-layered approach is intentional. In areas where digital literacy or internet access may be limited, human support ensures that no one is left behind. For AgriVijay, building trust at the grassroots level is just as important as product quality.
A mobile application is currently in development to further strengthen its presence and offer digital access to those who have smartphones and internet connections. Still, the company’s model doesn’t rely on technology alone—it leans on relationships built in the field, community trust, and constant feedback from users.
