ICAR-CRIDA: Smart Agriculture Training

To enhance knowledge of modern farming tools, including modern agrotech, ICAR-CRIDA (Central Research Institute for Dryland Agriculture) is organizing a special training course on “Smart Digital Tools for Sustainable Agriculture” from October 15 to 24, 2024. The course aims to equip participants with advanced technology and data-driven solutions essential for sustainable farming practices.

This transformation of traditional farming practices enhances productivity, reduces environmental impact, and ensures food security. Smart digital tools are essential for creating a sustainable, efficient, and resilient agricultural industry. They enable farmers to manage resources more effectively and minimize waste.

Objective

The main objective of this training course is to provide a learning platform on cutting-edge technologies for sustainable agriculture. Participants will have ample opportunity to interact with experts from the field of technology and gain hands-on experience.

  • Overview of Smart Digital Tools for Sustainable Farming

  • IoT in Agriculture – Data Collection and Management

Target Participants

The target participants for the program include scientists of ICAR, state universities, and other universities working in agriculture and allied sectors.

Application Process:

  • Send a scanned copy of the completed application to the Course Director at smartdigitaltools2024@gmail.com.
  • Deadline for applications: September 30, 2024.
  • Selection notifications will be sent by October 1, 2024.
  • A maximum of 25 participants will be selected.

Accommodation and food will be arranged at the ICAR-CRIDA guest house on a payment basis, with working lunches provided. The program will span 10 days. ICAR participants will not incur any fee, while non-ICAR participants will be charged Rs. 5900/- (including GST). And no TA/DA will be covered by the organizer.
